Make Your Own Luck

"Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty." Proverbs 21:5 NLT My father used to say that "statistically your odds of winning the lottery were nearly identical if you bought a ticket or if you didn't." You could find the winning ticket or buy the winning ticket, both are long odds. This isn't a criticism of those who do buy lottery tickets, just a suggestion that if you want prosperity, the better odds are in "making your own luck".  It is attributed to the Roman philosopher Seneca; "luck is when preparedness meets opportunity."
